Historical Highlights

Feudal hamlet consisting of the church with bell tower of 1000, the adjacent and coeval fortified monastery and a small group of houses, a splendid example of medieval architecture.

The castle and the church, of which we have news of 1030, you have the severe appearance of a fortress. The buildings are enhanced by beamed ceilings and sumptuous doorways.

The Spaltenna complex, surrounded by vineyards and woods, overlooking a beautiful valley in the heart of a region rich in castles and fortresses, ancient villages and abbeys.

Rooms

The 37 rooms are cozy and familiar; made especially to be lived with love and taste, not as a simple rooms.

Canopy beds or wrought iron, wooden desks and trunks of the nineteenth century, decorated curtains and drawers with marble countertops decor the rooms, each one different from the others but all strictly local country style. Because everything around you has the flavor of Tuscany and Chianti.

All rooms are equipped with air conditioning/heating, mini-bar, hair dryer, bathrobes, safe, telephone and satellite TV and free Wi-Fi in all areas.

Restaurant and Bar

The cuisine offered is rooted in the territory and seasonality, with combinations and compositions never dull, but the result of professionalism and study: Aromatic Herbs from the garden of the castle, homemade breads, breadsticks, schiacciata, pastries, cakes and croissants for a hearty gourmet breakfast.

La Terrazza Restaurant, open for lunch only with an à la carte menu is also where breakfast is served every morning

The Pievano, open for dinner with a choice gourmet menu or à la carte menu also offers Tradition and tasting. The Pievano is located within the halls of the castle and in summer the tables are laden in the courtyard.

Sports and leisure

The castle of Spaltenna offers all its guests a renewed fitness room, sauna and turkish bath. It also has an indoor heated pool, large outdoor swimming pool, a billiards room, a tennis court and a number of mountain bikes.
