Villa Volterra

Description

Villa Volterra is set on top of a hill near the city of Volterra, the most incredible view over rolling hills leading to the sea. Built in the XVII century by order of the governor of Leghorn and admiral of the Tuscan Navy Jacopo Inghirami (1565-1623), it was designed by the architect Gherardo Silvani (1579-1675).
Around the villa a magnificent garden with centuries-old trees, this estate of  7.5 acres, is an incredible setting fro your holiday: the perfect combination of tranquility and charm. The film director Luchino Visconti, during a  tour of 1964 of his film Vaghe Stelle dell’Orsa, was fascinated by Villa Ulignano and recommended it to its current owner, a famous film producer.
Soon after the new owner brought it back to life it became a cultural and artistic center, hosting famous names of the Italian  and international movie business.

The Villa  sleeps 37 people, with the near buildings – La Scuola e Il Granaio (The School and The Barn) made of  3 suites, 1 junior suite and 12 bedrooms. Particularity of this villa is the first floor:
the games floor with large reception ballroom, pool table room.
Roulette room, satellite TV and dvd room, projection 35mm cinema room, sauna, church, swimming pool with equipped porch, pool bar, all garden facilities, BBQ and other.
