Villa Volterra is set on top of a hill near the city of Volterra, the most incredible view over rolling hills leading to the sea. Built in the XVII century by order of the governor of Leghorn and admiral of the Tuscan Navy Jacopo Inghirami (1565-1623), it was designed by the architect Gherardo Silvani (1579-1675).
Around the villa a magnificent garden with centuries-old trees, this estate of 7.5 acres, is an incredible setting fro your holiday: the perfect combination of tranquility and charm. The film director Luchino Visconti, during a tour of 1964 of his film Vaghe Stelle dell’Orsa, was fascinated by Villa Ulignano and recommended it to its current owner, a famous film producer.
Soon after the new owner brought it back to life it became a cultural and artistic center, hosting famous names of the Italian and international movie business.
