Mercatale Castle Chianti

Description

A real unique castle, with it’s powerful outside walls being also the feet of the castle itself. Surrounded by wine yards and olive trees, this castle was first built in 1252.
The castle, has undergone many changes. In ancient times, the tower, which has a square basis, used to be lower and without any battlement (this was a feature of many other castles of the Chianti area).
Outside many particular situations for your reception, inside halls and an impressive internal courtyard, obviously fabulous when fire lighted.
